The Concord Volleyball team knew it was going to have a lot to do this weekend.

The Mountain Lions' schedule had them hosting Glenville State in a WVIAC match at 7:00 Friday night, then returning to the Carter Center for another conference match, with West Virginia Wesleyan, a little more than 14 hours later.

That's a quick turnaround.

Concord got half its to-do list done with a four-set victory over Glenville State.  The Mountain Lions dropped the first set but recovered to decisively take the next three -- 23-25, 25-14, 25-14, 25-18.

"We played with a lot of confidence and a lot of intensity," noted CU head coach Kate Southcott.  "I'm very pleased with the way we played tonight."

Friday's win snapped Concord's four-match conference losing skid and lifted its record to 11-15, 3-6 in the WVIAC.  The Mountain Lions improved to 3-2 on their home court and moved to within one game of Glenville State for 10th place in the WVIAC.

But there's very little time to savor Friday night's win, with the second match of the weekend just hours away.

"In a way, it's just like playing a doubleheader," Southcott said.  "So we just have to go home and get as much rest as we can, and come back and get ready to play in the morning."

Concord's match with 7th-place West Virginia Wesleyan begins at 9:30 Saturday morning.  Admission is free.
