Men's Cross Country Drops Out of Poll

Redemption Awaits at Regional Meet

Following the Concord Men's Cross Country team's third-place showing at last Saturday's WVIAC Championship meet, head coach Mike Cox figured the Mountain Lions might fall out of the next Atlantic Regional Top Ten.

Turns out he was right.

Concord is not included in this week's NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings, as voted on by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Mountain Lions began the 2009 season ranked #9, and rose to #6 in the October 6 voting after an impressive 5th-place showing at the Greater Louisville Invitational October 3.

Concord remained at #6 until this week.

The Mountain Lions posted 68 team points at last week's WVIAC Championships, 17 behind co-champions Seton Hill and West Virginia Wesleyan and 34 ahead of fourth-place Alderson-Broaddus.

Seton Hill is the only WVIAC team in this week's regional rankings.  There are no schools located in West Virgina in the poll:
