Athens, WV-After finishing the regular season at 9-1 in the WVIAC, which was good enough to place them 2nd in the conference, Concord has qualified for the Division II Tennis Championships.
The Mountain Lions won’t have much time to celebrate the achievement and will be tested in the opening round against the Bears of Shaw University who captured their 5th straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship this year. The game will be played at a neutral site on the campus of Kutztown University.
The opening rounds will be single elimination preliminary tournaments between May 7th and 9th. The winners of the preliminaries will be invited to play in Altamonte Springs, Florida for the final rounds of play.
Two other WVIAC schools will be heading to the tournament, including conference champ West Virginia Wesleyan and tournament runner up West Liberty.
