Kutztown, PA-Concord’s season ended with the 5-0 loss to the Bear’s of Shaw University in the opening round of the Atlantic Regional Tournament.

With the win Shaw the #4 seed has eliminated #5 Concord and will face the #1 seed Kutztown University. The winner of that contest will be heading to the Sweet Sixteen Round in Altamonte Spring, Florida.

This season turned out to be one of the best season’s in Concord Men’s Tennis history. Concord’s 2nd place finish in the WVIAC was a team best. The trip to the NCAA nationals was also a first for the school. Concord finished the regular season at an impressive 9-1 mark in WVIAC play.

Mountain Lion fans will have a lot to look forward to next year as the young team will have 4 returning freshmen and 2 returning sophomores next season, while only losing one senior.

Coach Joe Blankenship had this to say about this year's success and the things to come for Concord Tennis, "This team has cemented its place in Concord history, hopefully next's year team can write a new page...They have shown they can compete and the sky is the limit."

Finally we would also like to recognize the tennis team’s lone senior Matt Lester. Matt was the team captain and had a great deal to do with the team’s success this year. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
