Men's Cross Country: New Poll

Following yet another competition against predominantly Division I opponents, the Concord Men's Cross Country team remains at #9 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rankings.
Concord is one of three West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams in the latest poll. Wheeling Jesuit remains at #6, while Seton Hill enters the rankings at #10. Edinboro (PA) is the top-ranked team.
The Mountain Lions finished 7th -- behind six Division I teams -- in last weekend's Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, VA.
Freshman Craig Pritt (Terra Alta, WV/Preston HS) was Concord's top finisher. His time of 25:40.9 on the 7.6K course put him in 38th place in a field of 94 competitors.
Sophomore Robbie Peters (Greenbrier West HS) was CU's second finishing, coming in 56th at 26:14.3.
Freshman Nathan Rees (Ravenswood, WV/Ravenswood HS) and sophomore Nick Lucento (Shady Spring HS) crossed the finish line with nearly identical times -- Rees at 26:36.9, Luceto at 26:37.0.
After them came senior Lance McDaniel (Pulaski, VA/Pulaski HS) at 27:01.4 and freshmane Benji Hamer (Charleston, WV/Capital HS) in 27:13.9.
The Mountain Lions would later record another photo finish. Junior John Meadows (McArthur, WV/Independence HS) finished his run in 27:21.5, with freshman Brad Dugan (Lewisburg, WV/Greenbrier East HS) on his heels at 27:21.7.
The Concord men's and women's teams are next scheduled to run in the 26th Annual Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, NC, on Saturday, September 26
