Mike Pistentis scored a goal and an assist and the Concord Men’s Soccer team became the latest victims of Seton Hill’s stingy defense in dropping a 3-0 decision to the Griffins Saturday afternoon in Greensburg, PA.
Seton Hill has allowed two or fewer goals to eight of its ten opponents so far this season. Saturday was their sixth shutout and the third in their last four matches.
The Mountain Lions and Griffins played to a scoreless draw at halftime. But Seton Hill pressed in the second half and broke into the lead on Garrett Fishaw’s goal, assisted by Pistentis, in the 47th minute.
Pistentis added an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute, and Mike Oliver closed the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 81st minute.
The Griffins outshot the Mountain Lions 12-5 in the second half and 20-12 for the match.
Concord takes a record of 4-5 and 1-3 in the WVIAC into its next match, against West Virginia Wesleyan next Wednesday, September 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm EDT at Anderson Field.
