As the only senior on a first-place team, Sierra Brown is expected to provide leadership for Concord Women's Basketball.
Brown led by example Saturday, playing one of her finest games as a Mountain Lion in CU's 76-54 victory over Ohio Valley in a WVIAC contest at the Carter Center.
The Summers County High School alumna recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 7-15 from the field and a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line. She also added three assists and four steals.
Jolysa Brown backed up older sister Sierra with a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double of her own.
The Mountain Lions complemented the Browns' inside game with solid outside shooting. Holly Bibb had her best shooting day of the season, hitting 5-9 from three-point range to finish with 15 points. Megan Cole and Camisha Alexander each went 2-5 from long range to end with 11 and 10 points, respectively. As a team, the Lady Lions shoot better from outside the arc (9-21, .429) than they did inside it (12-38, .316).
The Browns' strong joint performance helped CU to a 42-34 advantage in rebounds, including 17-12 in offensive boards (the Brown sisters combined for 13 of those. The Browns' combined 17-18 showing also lifted Concord to a 25-29 (.862) day at the free throw line. OVU finished 9-16.
The Mountain Lions led 22-18 late in the first half before going on a 12-5 rally to lead 34-23 at halftime. CU would open up a 53-31 lead less than six minutes in the second half and didn't allow Ohio Valley to get closer than 17 points after that.

The victory improves Concord 9-3, 6-1 in the WVIAC. The Fighting Scots drop to 3-7, 1-6.
The Lady Lions will visit intra-county rival Bluefield State as part of a WVIAC doubleheader with the Concord men on Monday, January 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm EST.
