HALLOWEEN WEEKEND ENDS WITH LOSS AT SHEPHERD

Amber Miller Spike #2 vs Chowan 291 x 235
If the Concord Volleyball team's Halloween weekend WVIAC road trip was trick-or-treating, the Lady Lions would've come home with stale popcorn balls, overripe fruit and maybe even some vegetables – but very little candy.

Saturday, Concord dropped its second match in as many days, a four-set (25-16, 25-18, 17-25, 25-12) loss to Shepherd in Shepherdstown, WV. CU was swept at Pitt-Johnstown Friday night.

Amber Miller (right) continued her strong play, again leading CU in kills with 13. She also posted 17 digs.

Emily Wilson floored 10 kills with a .235 hitting percentage.

Helen Theisen led CU with 23 assists and 18 digs.

Shepherd recorded 50 kills to Concord's 33. Kayla Walker and Kasey Mercier led the host Rams by combining for 33 kills. Lauren Jeschelnik handed out 31 assists and Theresa McElroy added 18 digs.

Shepherd outhit Concord .257 to .119 in winning the first two sets. CU heated up to hit .276 in winning the third set, but the Rams (12-15, 9-3) converted at a sizzling .600 rate in taking the fourth set to close out the match.
