LADY LIONS GRAB EARLY LEAD, ROLL TO 31-POINT WIN

One sure way to get over a heartbreak is to find a healthy activity you enjoy, and do it.

Concord's Women's Basketball worked through the heartbreak of last Saturday's season-opening overtime loss at Pitt-Johnstown by working over Bluefield College, 86-55, Monday night at the Carter Center.

The Lady Lions erupted for runs of 14-0 and 12-0 to lead 26-5 ten minutes into the game. Concord led 45-22 at halftime in the non-conference matchup of geographic rivals.

Concord held the Lady Rams to .338 (22-65) shooting and posted 26 assists – with only 12 turnovers – on their 33 made field goals. CU shot .533 (16-30) in the first half and .500 (17-34) in the second.

Sidney Lindsey paced Concord with 18 points on 7-14 shooting. Camisha Alexander was 4-5 from three-point range in finishing with 16 points.
Jolysa Brown just missed another double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Andrea Bertrand did likewise, with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Sarah Blevins contributed 11 points, five assists and three rebounds, while shooting 3-6 from three-point range.

Jasmin Washington and Kiara Honore each scored 10 points to lead Bluefield College.

Up next for the Lady Lions is a visit to West Virginia State for a WVIAC contest on Wednesday, November 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm at Fleming Hall in Institute, WV.
