Concord University's 2009-2010 basketball schedules have changed again.
But this time, it's not because of another postponement.
Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan have agreed to move up -- by 30 minutes -- the start time of their WVIAC doubleheader scheduled for Thursday, February 18th, in Buckhannon, WV.
The women's game will begin at 5:00 pm EST, with the men's contest starting at 7:00.
The earlier start times will help ease the burdens facing the Mountain Lions and Bobcats. Due to multiple weather-related postponements, each Concord team is forced to play eight games over the final 16 days of the regular season. The WVSU women will play eight games in 17 days; the Bobcat men will play seven games in that same time.
Broadcast coverage of Thursday's doubleheader will begin at 4:30 pm EST on Classic Rock 102 The River (102.3 FM WMTD) and www.theriver102.com.
The Mountain Lions' doubleheader against Wheeling Jesuit, snowed out on its original date of January 30th, will be made up on Wednesday, February 17th at the Carter Center.
Note the earlier-than-usual starting times: The women's game will begin at 4:30 pm EST, followed by the men's game at 6:30.
Classic Rock 102 The River (WMTD 102.3 FM) will broadcast both games -- with the webcast at www.theriver102.com -- starting at 4:00 pm.
Concord will provide live, streaming video at www.concord.edu/mltv, starting at tip-off.
The day and time of Concord's doubleheader at Shepherd looks to be set. According to Shepherd's Athletics website, the twinbill will be played on Wednesday, February 24th.
The women's game will begin at 6:00 pm EST and the men's contest at 8:00.
The games were originally scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, then moved up to Friday, February 5th, before being postponed.
Radio broadcast and webcast coverage of the doubleheader will begin at 5:30 pm.
Earlier this season, the historic blizzard of December 18th forced Concord to reschedule its doubleheader at West Virginia State two days later. The twinbill was broken into separate games, with the women visiting Institute on January 25th and the men on February 1st.
Heavy weather moved the doubleheader against Alderson-Broaddus back a day, from February 11th to the 12th.
