Blizzard, Again

If you're one of the growing number of southern West Virginia residents who are growing tired of winter, you've got company in the Concord Athletic Department.

Plans are still pending for a makeup date for the Mountain Lions' basketball doubleheader at Shepherd University.

The historic winter storm that pummeled the Mid-Atlantic the weekend of Febuary 5-7 has put the twinbill on hold.

In fact, the CU-SU doubleheader has already been moved more than once.
It was originally scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, February 6.
Both schools agreed to move it up to Friday, February 5, in a bid to play before the weather turned foul.
But substantial snow began falling on Shepherdstown and West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle earlier than first thought, forcing the two schools to put the game on hiatus.

If and when a makeup date is determined, it will be posted promptly here on www.cumountainlions.com

This is the third time this season winter weather has impacted Concord's 2009-2010 basketball schedule.

CU's December 20 doubleheader at West Virginia State was split into separate games -- the women played January 25 and the men February 1.

Concord's WVIAC doubleheader against Wheeling Jesuit, originally set for January 30 at the Carter Center, is postponed to Wednesday, February 24.
On that night, the women will play at 5:30 and the men at 7:30.
