TRACK & FIELD WINS SIX TIMES AT WV WESLEYAN
MEN CLAIM FOUR TITLES AND WOMEN TWO AT BOBCAT INVITATIONAL

Concord’s Track & Field teams claimed six victories in the Wendy’s West Virginia Wesleyan Invitational on Friday, April 16th, in Buckhannon, WV.

Each of CU’s teams finished second behind the host Bobcats.
 
 
The Mountain Lion men won four events:
Lance McDaniel led a 1-2-3 finish in the 1500 meters, followed by Nathan Rees and Brad Dugan.
Craig Pritt won the 800 meters, with Rees in 4th.
Kareem Royal won the high jump, and Nick Lucento the 5000 meters.
 
 

Other noteworthy results included Bobby Thompson finishing 2nd in the hammer throw and 3rd in the shot put; Benji Hamer’s runner-up showing int the 10000 meters; Jason Brackett and Ben Umstead finishing 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the 400 meters; and John Gadomski coming in 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles.

 
 
 
The Concord Women won twice:
Lydia Powell was first to the tape in the 400 meters; she was also 2nd in the 200 meters.
Danielle Pye won the 800 meters, with Lindsey DeVaughn in 3rd.
 
 

Elsewhere, Chelsea Callaway was 3rd in the 1500 meters, and Brittany Pratt delivered a strong all-around performance – she was 2nd in the 100 meters, 2nd in the long jump and 4th in the pole vault.
