The Concord Football coach staff found itself with an opening after the departure of defensive coordinator Brian Hill in the wake of last year's 6-5 turnaround season.

Head coach Mike Kellar first made a series of internal moves, elevating Chris Bowers to the coordinator position, promoting linebackers coach Paul Price and bringing Concord Hall of Famer Tracy Gravely back to the program as cornerbacks coach.

After that, Kellar brought in West Virginia State defensive coordinator William King to be Concord's defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
