One step closer to Nationals.
Concord’s Men’s Golf team still holds the lead after two rounds of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Tournament, on the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, WV, putting the Mountain Lions in position to advance to the national playoffs.
Concord persevered through a windy day that presented difficult scoring conditions to post a team total of 304 on Tuesday, matching rival Bluefield State for lowest score of the day.
The Mountain Lions’ two-day total of 594 has them eight shots ahead of Indiana (PA), which shot a 308 on Tuesday.
American International (MA) is third, Ohio Valley 4th, with BSC and Clarion University (PA) tied for 5th.
The top five teams from the regional advance to the national tournament, which begins May 18th in Noblesville, IN.
Concord’s Ryan Terdik and Emmanuel Charmat are each in contention for tournament Medalist honors. Terdik posted CU’s lowest score Tuesday, with a 74. Charmat carded a 75.
Terdik's two-day total of 145 has him four strokes out of the lead. Charmat is one stroke further back at 146.
Johan Isberg’s 77 on Tuesday has him in a five-way tie for 11th. Kyle Long shot a 78 to tumble from 10thth in the individual standings. Jimmy Ettore posted an 89 in round two. to 16
Each team’s top four individual results will be used to determine its final score.
