ATHENS, W. Va. – Colin Doran and Joe Greenway will serve as graduate assistant coaches for the Concord University football team in 2012.

Doran comes to Concord after a successful playing career at DePauw while Greenway takes on his new coaching duties after a stellar career as a linebacker for the Mountain Lions.

“Colin came highly-recommended from Dustin Ward [Concord's offensive coordinator],” head coach Garin Justice said. “Colin had an outstanding career at DePauw both on the field and in the classroom. Joe was a great player for us, he did everything the right way. His style will have a positive effect on the team.”

Doran played wide receiver at DePauw. In 2010, he played in 11 games and made 29 catches for 362 yards and two touchdowns. He was a part of conference championship teams in 2009 and 2010. His senior class recorded the most wins in a four-year period in school history. Academically, Doran was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll in 2010. He holds a Bachelor's degree in communication from DuPauw.

Joe Greenway
Greenway was one of the top linebackers to play at Concord in recent memory. In 38 career games, Greenway accumulated 261 tackles, 38 tackles for a loss, four sacks, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

Greenway earned a plethora of awards as a player. He earned All-WVIAC honors three times; WVIAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades in 2011, Don Hansen's Football Gazette NCAA Division II All-American honorable mention in 2011 as well as two all-region awards as a senior (Don Hansen's Football Gazette and Daktronics).

Justice also recently announced that Steve Cox, the former Concord University men's basketball coach, will join the football staff as the kicking coach.

Concord, which won the 2011 WVIAC championship and earned its first NCAA Division II playoff berth in program history in 2011, will begin its season 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at home against Lenoir-Rhyne.
