Baseball Adds Three During Early Signing Period

ATHENS, W.Va. – Head coach Kevin Garrett has announced three early signees to the Concord University baseball team for the class of 2017.

Name: Will Guay
Position: Right-Handed Pitcher
Hometown: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
High School: Palm Beach Gardens
Current School: Snead State CC (Ala.)

Guay is a 6-foot-4, 230 pound right-handed pitcher that pitched at Snead State Community College in Alabama in the spring of 2016. Guay logged 33.2 innings with 26 strikeouts. Guay will again pitch for Snead State in spring of 2017 before joining the Mountain Lions.

Name: Anthony Stehlin
Position: Shortstop
Hometown: Montclair, Virginia
High School: Forest Park

Stehlin is a tall, slender shortstop that checks in at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds. Stehlin's two older brothers, James and Julio, played for Coach Garrett during his first stint as baseball coach at CU. Stehlin was a second team all-conference selection as a junior at Forest Park.

Name: Jay Trail
Position: Outfielder
Hometown: Roanoke, Virginia
High School: William Byrd

Trail is a left-handed hitting outfielder that will join former high school teammate Troy Beckner at Concord. Trail was an all-conference and all-district selection as a junior at Byrd.
