Sabrina McCullough has infused boundless energy and enthusiasm into the Concord program, taking over as the Mountain Lions' head coach in August 2008 after two years as an high school head coach and 8th Grade Special Education teacher in the Scott County (KY) School System.
Under McCullough, Scott County High School posted an 81-16 record, won the 42nd District and 11th Region championships twice and advanced to the Kentucky State Tournament each season. Scott County were ranked as high as 27th in the nation by USA Today.
Before becoming a coach, McCullough set several school records as a player at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, from 2002-2006.
McCullough set the Patriots’ career standards for batting average (.389), doubles (32), RBI's (109) and home runs (23). She earned First Team All-Mid-South Conference honors three times and was twice nominated for MSC Player of the Year.
McCullough was also a first team All-Region player two times and was once on the All-Region second team.
She was earned a spot on the MSC’s Academic All-Conference team honors three times and was an NAIA Academic All-American twice.
In December 2006, McCullough graduated with a major in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education and a minor in English.
McCullough spent a season with the Louisville Lady Sluggers Gold organization coached by Don Dobina, and played two years on the United States International senior team. She competed overseas in Aruba, Belgium, and Holland.
As head coach, McCullough brings a great passion for softball, with an emphasis on fundamentals and the mental aspects of the game: "Coaching here at Concord is an amazing opportunity, with limitless chances to provide structure and leadership for aspiring athletes to grow as students and display their on-field talent at the NCAA level. I’m excited to be here and look forward to helping take the softball team to a new level of competition."
