CU: THIS WEEKEND

BUSY WEEKEND ON TAP FOR MOUNTAIN LIONS


The first full weekend of the Fall sports calendar starts Friday afternoon, when the Men's Soccer team opens its 2010 season by hosting Holy Family University (PA) at 5:00 pm.
The Mountain Lions turn around to take on East Stroudsburg (PA) Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
It's part of a four-team, four-game slate in Athens. Other matches include East Stroudsburg vs Davis & Elkins at 3:00 pm Friday and Holy Family against D&E at 1:00 pm Saturday.

In Women's Soccer, Stefani Workman makes her debut as Concord's head coach when the Lady Lions clash with Kutztown University (PA) at 5:00 pm Friday in East Stroudsburg. Concord will stay in East Stroudsburg to host school in an 11:00 am kickoff Sunday.
The two weekend matches are part of a rugged early-season schedule ( ).

The Volleyball team starts its second season under head coach Kate Southcott with four matches in less than 24 hours in the Falcon Fest tournament in Fairmont, WV.
The Lady Lions play Edinboro University (PA) and West Liberty on Friday, then go against Notre Dame College (OH) and Chowan University (NC) on Saturday.

Cross Country head coach Mike Cox takes both Concord teams to run at the VMI Relay in Lexington, VA on Friday. It's CU's first event of the 2010 fall season.
The Women's team returns three All-WVIAC performers: Chelsea Callaway, Rachel Williams and Danielle Pye.
The Men's team welcomes back four from the All-WVIAC team: Robby Peters, Nathan Rees, Craig Pritt and Nick Lucento.

Concord's Men's Golf team, off an appearance in the NCAA National Tournament last spring, begins the new fall schedule at the Kiawah Island Invitational, hosted by USC-Aiken at the Cougar Point Golf Club, Monday and Tuesday.
CU, the reigning NCAA Atlantic-East Region champions, return three All-WVIAC players: Emmanuel ChArmat, Ryan Terdik and Kyle Long. Chermat and Terdik also earned All-Atlantic Region honors.
